WOW Fact – Motivational
and inspirational experiences improve employees' attitudes, confidence and
performance.
On Monday 11th April, I had the great privilege of motivating the Norse
bus driving team in Ipswich. Our session was called WOW – WellnessOnWheels.
This workshop was part of
a Wellness initiative that NORSE is running throughout their business.
Motivated people perform better. When employees come
together in such a setting, they communicate better and see each other in a WOW
new light and they like it when bosses and superiors take part, which was the
case yesterday - it helps the ‘can-do’ culture. A positive attitude is
something everyone can work on and everyone can learn how to employ it.
Being
realistic, most business’s concentrate on process, rules, theory, structure and
logic, however, modern successful organisations rely just as heavily on their
people having well-developed ‘soft’ skills and attributes, such as
self-motivation, confidence, initiative, empathy and creativity.
I love
this quote (and pardon the pun re driven, makes me think of the bus drivers…)
“A workplace filled with and driven by employees with positive attitudes –
vibrates continually to the tune of service excellence and passionate team
success.”
WOW
Fact – experiencing positive feelings is vital for success and achievement,
essential for broadening people’s horizons, raising their sights, setting new
personal goals and increasing MOTIVATION!
PHYSICAL
ACTIVITY IS MOTIVATIONAL! And that’s what we also did yesterday…it got everyone’s
bodies moving, which is great for general health and for an energetic approach
to work. Physical activity also provides significant stress relief. People
concentrate and work better when they have had some light exercise and physical
stimulus. Physical activity energises people and reduces stress and tension.
In a
nutshell, improve your employee’s lives… so they can improve customers’ lives.
MOTIVATION is the art of getting people to do what you want them to do because
they want to do it…and that’s simply WOW!
